• Perseverance and the long road to becoming an author, including Q&A (presentation) - 45 min

  Listen to Tamara Moss’s inspiring journey to publication, where it took her over a decade of submissions, hundreds of rejections, and many manuscripts before finally receiving a “yes” from a publisher. Tamara will answer questions about the industry and how to persevere, as well as read some of her work. Suitable for all ages.

• Create Your Own Mythical Creature workshop - 45 min-1hr *most popular*

  Join children's author Tamara Moss as she dives into the world of magical creatures. She'll discuss the origins and development of the mythical creatures ('mythies') in her award-winning Lintang series, and provide a template for you to create your own. Fun, adventure and hilarity to be had! Suitable for middle and upper primary.

• Creating characters workshop - 45 min

  Learn the craft of creating believable, interesting and unique characters with author Tamara Moss. Participants will design and develop several characters with rich backstories during the class. Suitable for ages 8 and up.

• Creative writing workshop - 1 hr

  Be inspired to write fiction with author Tamara Moss. Participants will learn about character, setting and genre, then write a scene during the class. Suitable for ages 8 and up.

• Creating fantasy worlds workshop - 1 hr

  Learn the craft of world-building for speculative fiction with author Tamara Moss. Delve into maps, cultures, climates and more when creating a fantastical land. Participants will begin a story bible and discover ways to keep track of their growing universes. Suitable for ages 11 and up.
